1st Match
1st Half
The home side took the centre kick to start the game
and got off to a promising start with some good passing, applying some good
pressure against the visitors.
Almondsbury come back with a corner that Fry’s dealt
with quickly and comfortably.
The teams shared possession in the first ten minutes,
each cancelling each other out in defence to deny any goal scoring
opportunities.
Fry’s confidence grows with some good footwork from
Kyle Morris and accurate passing from Mickey Parsons and Jack Dancey.
A searching pass from Mickey picks out Perry May who
has a chance to get a shot in but is off target.
Perry picks up the ball again on the right wing and
this time delivers an excellent cross but Fry’s were unable to convert.
Fry’s very much in control in this half but are still unable to find the back of the net.
2nd Half
Almondsbury
start off strong putting Fry’s under pressure straight from the whistle.
Mickey broke away with a strong run in midfield with a
good pass up to Kyle who was unfortunate to not trouble the visitor’s keeper.
Kyle, determined to create, wins the ball back with
some quick footwork and gets another shot off, again not troubling the Almonds
keeper.
Lee Heath on for Jack Dancey
who gets stuck into the game and puts some good forward passes together to
create chances for Kyle and Mickey.
Both teams battling hard
for the ball and with Jack Dancey receiving a pass
from Lee who cuts in to the box and forces the keeper to get down to make an
important save to give the teams a goalless draw.
Final score: Fry Club Juniors 0 Almondsbury 0

2nd Match
1st Half
Fry’s kick off but started slowly, Nathan Munford wins
the ball on the right wing and puts in a great cross to Jordan Finch who was unable to finish.
Almondsbury press the home side but were stopped by
defender Corey Reid who plays a good ball forward to Nathan Munford. He holds
off a tackle to
break free for goal but the Almonds defender handled the ball and conceded a
free kick just outside the box.
Ben Clapp stepped up and drilled the ball past the
left ear of the keeper giving no chance to save, 1-0.
Nathan won the ball from the restart who passed on to Jordan who then passed to Ben Clapp, who
coolly slotted home the 2nd.
Almondsbury come back at Fry’s but Ben Watt and Corey
are strong in defence and win the ball back from the visitors.
Fry’s win a corner that was
taken by Nathan. It was met by the head of Corey which tested the Almondsbury keeper who
saved well.
Good pressure from Fry’s resulting in another goal
that was slotted in by Jordan who had done well to outrun his marker.
Almondsbury win a corner that was cleared by Ben Watt
and fed through the midfield by Dan Kendall.
2nd Half
Substitutes Ben Harper and Mitchell Thornton start
this half for Fry’s who make an immediate impact.
Almondsbury win the ball and apply the pressure to
Fry’s and force some strong defending from Ben Watt and Corey.
Mitchell Thornton gets a shot in from out on the left
wing that was cleared well by the Almonds defence.
A decisive break by Fry’s who cut through the heart of
the Almondsbury defence but
Ben Harper takes the resulting corner, ending in a
goalmouth scramble that was finally cleared by the visiting defence.
A great turn by Corey to pass the ball to Ben Harper
who presses forward only to loose the ball to an Almonds defender.
Substitute keeper Jake Wooley
comes on in place of Jovey Belcher and is forced to
make an immediate save.
Fry’s continue to control the match with some great
passing.
Mitchell creates another scoring chance for himself
but it was saved well by the Almonds keeper.
Almondsbury rally with a great effort then a counter
attack by Fry’s with Mitchell shot. Again
the keeper saved well to give away a corner.
A good corner from Ben
Harper but no Fry’s player able to get on the end.
A great match by Fry’s with
some excellent passing and commitment from the players.
